My Packers are self destructing. Aaron Rodgers is letting himself get frustrated early in the game, which is hurting the Packers offense. And the play calling has been pretty bad lately. I know that McCarthy wants to get Grant back in to the offense, but come on, start handing off to Brandon Jackson instead for awhile. At least Jackson is producing! And if I can pole vault on a broken ankle, Rodgers can keep himself in the game long enough to hand the ball off. Putting in a very very very inexperienced rookie, like Flynn, at a crucial point in the game is ridiculous. Ok, done with my rant.

On the bright side, the Brewers looked great today. So, I am taking off the Packers jersey and donning my Brewers jersey for the remainder of the day.

The One-Upper

I work with a one-upper (someone who has to outdo every comment or story I discuss). It does not matter if she actually knows about the subject I am talking about, she has an opinion and it will always differ from whatever my perspective is. It is seriously getting to the point that I cannot stand to hear her voice.

Any suggestions about dealing with a one-upper?

T.G.I.F. !!!

I am ecstatic that it is Friday. This work week has beaten me up pretty badly, and I need some relaxation this weekend. Even though work has been brutal, it has also been good. I have developed a bit of a specialty at work, and now have people coming to me fairly routinely to do certain things. It feels good to be competent at something, versus the awkward feeling of constant inadequacy. So, while I am still new and learning, I am starting to become valuable at work. Feels good.

My weekend plans consist of trail running, cleaning the apartment, and relaxing and watching football. Go Packers!

Hope all of the newly graduated law students are doing well, and enjoying their new found careers too.

Politics in the classrooom/workplace

I do not care what party or belief system you adhere to, if you are a teacher or boss, please keep your political opinions to yourself. It is slightly intimidating to have a teacher flat out make fun of your beliefs and state that he thinks all people in a particular party are stupid. I actually had a law school professor (last year) rant about our old law school dean and make it very clear what he thought about a certain political party. I seriously was scared to give my opinion about certain issues in class, for fear of how he would grade my papers. That just isn't right.

Lazy Saturday

Got up early. Ran a few miles with Lobo. Now am relaxing and watching Center Stage, while Lobo is busy snoring next to me.

Everything is going well for me now adays. Have been slammed at work, which is a good thing. I even ended up coming in to the office on Sunday for a few hours. But, it was nice to get a big part of my project done while no one was in the office to disturb me. Overall, work is still going very well.

I have started running regularly again. I have been biking instead of running the last few weeks, and weirdly enough, biking hurts my knees worse than running. My quads are getting so tight that they are pulling on my knees. So, running more has been a nice break for my legs. Besides, mentally I feel a lot better when I run vs. bike. Running was a big part of my life when I was a college athlete, and I feel empowered when I push myself on a nice, long run.

Also, I went to an alumni cross country meet this past Saturday. It was neat to see how nice the team cross country course looks now. I can see why the Division 1 Nationals meet is being held there this year. Anyway, I had a good time seeing old friends and debating politics with my former coach. We do not have the same political philosophy and we have a great time debating about candidates and issues. He is tolerant and rational, and isn't offended that I have a different political perspective. It is nice to debate with someone, who does not think I am stupid or arrogant for being a Republican.

Anyway, back to work for me.
